In short: a template works if you're testing an idea and need something online now. A custom website makes sense when your site has to sell, reflect a brand that already exists, and grow with the business. The key question isn't how much it costs today, but how much every change costs you later.
One of the questions I get most is whether a custom website is worth it when there are templates for a fraction of the price. My honest answer: it depends on where your business is right now. And I'll help you figure out where you are.
When a template is fine
Not every business needs a custom website from day one. A template is a good option if:
- You're testing an idea and don't know yet if it will work.
- You don't have a defined brand yet.
- Your budget is minimal and you only need a basic presence.
- Your website is just a business card and doesn't need to sell.
If that's you, start with a template and put your money into testing the idea.
5 signs you've outgrown your template
- Your website doesn't look like your brand. You have a logo, colors and a tone, but the site looks like any other business that used the same template.
- Every change depends on someone else. You want to add a section or launch a landing page, and you have to call a developer or wait weeks.
- You're fighting the design. You want something simple, like moving a block or changing an animation, and the template won't let you.
- It doesn't show up on Google. The site loads slowly, has a confusing structure, or is missing basic technical SEO.
- It doesn't convert. People visit, but they don't leave their info, buy or book.
If you relate to two or more, the template is already costing you more than it saved you.

Why I build in Webflow

I build in Webflow for one reason: it lets me design without limits, and it lets your team edit without depending on me. I design every pixel from scratch, with custom animations and a CMS made for your content: blog, portfolio or catalog. And when I hand it over, your team can change text, images and pages without touching code.
And there's a bonus that changes everything: I combine Webflow with AI tools in my workflow. That lets me design, illustrate, animate and build in hours or days what used to take weeks, without lowering the quality or falling back on templates.
So this isn't just a promise, every project includes 1 hour of Webflow training with your team, on us. My rule is the same as in everything I do: if only I can edit your site, the site isn't really yours.
You can see some of the sites we've built in our projects.
How long it takes (spoiler: much less than you think)
This is the big difference. Because I design and build with an AI-powered workflow, a custom website no longer has to take months. What used to take weeks now takes hours or days, with illustrations, animations and the same level of detail.
High-impact landing page
Time: 24 to 48 hours
Corporate or institutional website
Time: 3 to 5 days
E-commerce
Time: 1 to 2 weeks
Investment depends on each project's scope: after a short call we send you a proposal with an exact price and dates. The process has four stages: Discovery (understanding your brand and goals), Design (every screen, which we review together), Build (built in Webflow with CMS, animations and technical SEO) and Handoff (training and 30 days of support after launch). All compressed into days, not months.
5 questions to ask whoever builds your website
Whether you work with me or someone else, ask this before you sign:
- Will I be able to edit it myself? If the answer is "just message me and I'll change it", you'll depend on them forever.
- Is it designed from scratch or an adapted template? Both are valid, but you need to know what you're paying for.
- What SEO is included? At minimum: speed, heading structure, meta descriptions, clean URLs and a mobile version.
- What happens after launch? Ask about support, how long it lasts and what it covers.
- How will I add new pages? A good site can grow without being rebuilt.
Already have a site on another platform?
We also do migrations. We move your current site to Webflow with a design that better reflects your brand and a structure your team can manage easily. And if you're already on Webflow, we can optimize it so it's faster, better for SEO and easier to scale. It's all in Web Development.
If you also plan to send ad traffic to your site, I recommend reading why your Meta ads don't convert. The landing page is half the result.
Want a website that truly represents your brand? Tell us what you need and we'll put together a proposal for you. Remember, every project includes 1 hour of Webflow training, on us.
